VIPeek – New Product 2017

Posted on Updated on

Meet the Razor® AMG® UH-1, affectionately known in-house as “Huey.”  The UH-1 is a completely new force in weapon-mounted holographic technology, and you’re the first to see it. Inside its durable aluminum chassis, the UH-1 features rugged internals with fewer moving parts than traditional holographic sights, all equating to maximum durability. One CR123A battery powers the sight, with the option of running rechargeable LFP 123A’s, which can be recharged using the on-board, waterproof, micro-USB port. Lastly, because the shooter is the only one who should be able to see the New EBR-CQB reticle, the entire system has been engineered to virtually eliminate all traces of forward signature, unlike any other red dot or holographic sights on the market.

Stay tuned for more on the new “Huey”, and future exclusive VIPeeks.

It looks promising. The elimination of the forward signature is a huge plus. I am looking forward to testing this unit. If and when it holds up, it could be another game changer from VORTEX.

What will the battery life be for the Huey?

      vortexoptics said:
      June 8, 2017 at 10:41 am

Barney – 1500 hours on CR123A batteries. Plus there is also re-chargeable LFP123A batteries – with about 600 hours on those. It will also depend on the situation and the brightness settings. Let me know if you ever have any other questions!

I am a little confused. Is this new “Huey” made for tactical applications, waterfowl hunting, which is what I’m looking for or both. Is it available for purchase and what is the cost?

      vortexoptics said:
      December 5, 2016 at 3:44 pm

Hey, Phil!! Thanks for your question! The Huey is definitely a great use for tactical applications and can be used for waterfowl hunting if you find a way to mount it. For waterfowl we would recommend the StrikeFire II with a low mount. – Kelly,

Sounds like something I want to learn more about, have enjoyed everything I’ve bought with the Vortex name on it so far and customer service is simply awesome! Have been using a strikefire on my muzzy for years, UT finally started allowing magnification this year so went with a BDC 3X9 and mounted my strikefire on my AR, LOVE IT!!! Any idea when this might be available? I know you have O’plenty of volunteers to test this new one out, but…should you need any others, I’m always available, thanks for staying in front of the pack, you guys (and gals) ROCK!!!

As an owner of 13 Vortex optics, and struggling to close the gap in the holographic world that EoTech has just failed with their thermal travel issues. I will definitely be adding a couple of these ASAP. Hoping Vortex has solved the thermal issues Eotech has chosen to ignore.

I just ordered one and I cant wait to get it and test it out on my AR-15. Right now I just have the standard Strikefire II and VMX-3T. So it might replace my Strikefire II.
I wanted to get a holographic sight for my AR15 but when I first got my red dot/magnifier that was all I could afford. I love your guys products and I actually ordered a Strike Eagle, Sparc AR, and a Viper red dot.
Strike Eagle for the DDM4V11 PRO Tornado, the Sparc AR for my fathers AR, and the Viper for a new project.
So excited to try out the Razor AMG UH-1. Hopefully it will the the holographic sight I need.

Either Way I love your guys products and your warranty is amazing. Hope I never need to use it but it is there for me.

    Thank you.
