“Last night I let my dogs in to stay out of the cold. Next thing I know is that my viper HD binoculars had been chewed to bits. After calling customer service I had only gotten the words I let my dogs in last night and the gal giggled and said I know where this is going. She simply stated to send back all the pieces I could and they will take care of it with the VIP warranty. This is why I buy Vortex and it will be the only optic I ever buy. Vortex stands behind their product as do I.”

VIP STORY – TRUCK FIRE

“Saturday morning my brother in law and I loaded the truck (2014 f 150) with a few guns so that after driving him around to see some land around the area for his possible purchase we could go and shoot some clays and targets with his brother that we were supposed to pick up from the airport and our fathers, kind of the guys afternoon before the wedding.

Around 11:50am we were going down a highway through a small town in eastern WA.  When a car flagged us down, I rolled my window down and as the driver says, ” Your truck is on fire,” a flame flares up right in front of my face. We both jumped out to see what was going on only to see flames boiling up from under the motor carriage area. We ran to the nearest building and tried to drag a hose over, but it wouldn’t reach. The local fire department showed up with their first truck and the pump wouldn’t stay on. This is when we stepped back and realized, as the airbags popped and flames roared, that we could do nothing. After about 20-25 minutes it was all over, the flames were gone and the cleanup began. In the pictures you can see a during the fire, after the fire what we find of my 260 ai that wears a 6-24 HST, as well as a few other pics.

I am hoping to get a chance to clean this gun up and be able to take a shot with it to see how well it held up to this fire, before I send it back to you guys. There were many items in the truck that were lost and more that were damaged (wish I had pieces of bino’s to send you, but they fried), luckily my bro in law and I were not and we made it the next day to the wedding so that I could get married.

When searching out for a new scope, I noticed the Vortex VIP warranty, which was kind of the final determining factor on which scope to get, so I bought a 4-12 x 50 Crossfire II. I mounted it, did a short distance sight in at the house with about 20 rounds, then took it to the range with my buddy to get it dialed in at 100 yards.. After the second group of 5 rounds, I unloaded the rifle and left it sitting in the sled on the shooting table. I walked down to the target to see exactly what was happening on target and heard a thud…. I looked back and my rifle had fallen out of the sled. When I looked through the scope it was blurry. I noticed the eye piece had been bent down towards the stock. I sent it in to the repair center and in about 10 days I had a brand new scope in my hands…. I will definitely stick to Vortex on the next scope I buy. Thanks Vortex for awesome customer service!
